The native refers to the time and place for the event being charted, and it is at the centre of the celestial sphere. This term is a general one that includes not only birth times as they are commonly understood, but any event for which a horoscope may be drawn.

Advocates of a sidereal zodiac believe that the position of the signs should be fixed relative to the constellations.
