Grapefruit does not contain any fat burning properties and all weight that is lost is due to the diets 800-1000 calorie intake. Grapefruit is a healthy fruit which is fat free and low in calories but any similar diet based on any fruit would work it would also be unhealthy and not give the required nutrition. I don't think so. Meal 2 would consist of another half grapefruit, any piece of meat you want, and a salad with any type of dressing. Is salad dressing healthy? No. Meal 3 consists of the exact same thing as meal 2, but add 1 cup of coffee into your meal. Finally Meal 4 consists of either 1 eight ounce glass of tomatoe juice or 1 eight ounce glass of skim milk.

So what is the grapefruit diet all about? The grapefruit diet promises that you can lose up to 50 pounds in as little as two and a hald months time. Are you kidding? Not only is this type of weight loss very unhealthy, but is also nearly impossible without totally depriving your body of nutrients.
