In 1885, Louis Vuitton was introduced to the current Britain as its first store opened in London. In 1888, Georges Vuitton had figured out a new design for Vuitton luggage. His pattern consisted of a checkerboard of beige and chestnut and the inscription "Louis Vuitton, marque deposee". Though he listed that it was a Vuitton product, it was still counterfeit. This design was enough to earn the Louis Vuitton company a gold medal at the Paris World Fair in 1889.

Louis Vuitton did not meet fame and fortune until just after his death. Vuitton started with a flat trunk, known as 'Gris Trianon'. This trunk was lightweight and covered with a gray canvas. Gris Trianon soon rose to become the trunk of France's Empress Eugenie in only Vuitton's first year of having his own trunk store. ' In 1854, he also married Emilie Clemence Pariaux, who was also thirty three years of age. Only three years later, in 1857, Louis and Emilie's son, Georges Vuitton was born.

World War II lasts from 1939 to 1945.

In 2003, Takashi Murakami & Marc Jacobs launch the Cherry Blossom Limited Edition, Multicolor and Eye Love lines.
